What is Connecticut Hall Of Change?

Connecticut Hall Of Change was created as an extension of HangTime, a Bridgeport-based community program known for bringing people together through honest conversation and real-life accountability. Rooted in that same mission, Hall Of Change exists to recognize formerly incarcerated leaders who are making powerful, visible impact in our cities and towns today.

The Connecticut Hall Of Change is a program that acknowledges tranfsormation. Over the past decade, Connecticut has emerged as a pioneer in prison reform efforts. Elected officials, community leaders and advocates collectively shared a vision to reduce the incarceration rate while making communities safer and families stronger. As a result, thousands of returning citizens are now working, paying taxes and reunified with their families. Their journey towards redemption epitomizes the fragility of the American Dream. Unfortunately, for many of these men and women their triumphs often become a footnote in society as they are celebrated in obscurity.

The Great 8

The Great 8 is an annual recognition of eight formerly incarcerated individuals who have shown exceptional community leadership, service, and transformation. Their work strengthens neighborhoods across Connecticut and inspires others to pursue their own path of change.
